　　愛國 Be Patriotic

　　It is the duty of every citizen to make the country rich and powerful ***to make the country rich and strong is...***. in order to accomplish this object one must be patriotic ***love his country***. i consider this an unchangeable truth.

　　要使國家富強是每個公民的責任。為了達到此目的，必須愛國。我認為這是一條不易的定理。

　　How can a student love his country ***be patriotic***? i find my answer very simple and clear. he must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his ***the*** country in the future. if every student can do according to what i said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.

　　一個學生如何才能愛國呢?我發覺答覆很簡單明瞭。他必須用功讀書並積儲知識以便將來服務國家。如果每個學生能按照我所說的去做，國家一定會富強。

　　我們的歷史老師 Our History Teacher

　　Mr Qin is our history teacher. He has a wonderful name Qin Han. He is over fifty now, and he is in good health. He likes history. He is not only interested in Chinese history, but also the history of the world. He likes reading, and goes to the book shop every Saturday. He often tells us something interesting in the history, such as the Great Wall, the World War II and so on. We are all happy to have his classes. Mr Qin wrote a thick book on history and it was published last year. We all admire him!

　　***是我們的歷史老師，他有一個好聽的名字秦漢。他已經年過半百，可是身體健康。他喜歡歷史。他不僅對中國歷史感興趣，對世界歷史也感興趣。他喜歡讀書，每星期六都去書店。他經常給我們講一些歷史上有趣的事，如萬里長城，第二次世界大戰等等。我們都喜歡上他的課。***寫了一本有關歷史的厚厚的書，去年出版了。我們都很敬佩他!

　　一次實踐活動 A Practical Activity

　　Last week, my teacher told us that we would have a practical activity. At first, we were happy to hear it, all of us thought that must be very funny. But when we heard that we needed to assist the cleaners with their work, we felt lost. It must be the dirty work. However, the cleaners were very nice to us, and they did their work with passion. We tried to help them as much as we could. We talked happily. Suddenly, I was so grateful to them, as they were the city’s decorators. What they did meant so much to the society. We should respct them and understand their work.

　　上週，老師告訴我們，我們將會有一個實踐活動。一開始聽到這個訊息我們都很高興，所有人都覺得那一定會很有趣。但是當我們聽到活動是協助清潔工的工作時，我們都感到很失落。那一定是很髒的工作。然而，清潔工對我們非常友好，他們對工作充滿著激情。我們盡我們所能去幫助他們，還聊得很愉快。突然間，我很感激他們，因為他們是城市的裝修者。他們所做的對社會意義重大。我們應該尊重他們，並且理解他們的工作。
