情人節的英文是什麼

　　背景介紹:情人節又名瓦倫丁節，是以公元三世紀一名羅馬牧師的名字命名的。當時的羅馬皇帝認為單身男人比有老婆的男人更適合當兵打仗，於是他下令禁止結婚。 但是瓦倫丁繼續祕密地為年輕的愛人們舉行結婚儀式。當他的行為被發現後，皇帝判處瓦倫丁死刑。據說在獄中，瓦倫丁與獄卒的女兒墜入愛河。臨死前，瓦倫丁給她寫了一封信，信中他簽上了“來自你的瓦倫丁”。這一措辭沿用至今。

 

　　Valentine's Day, named after Valentine who was a priest in third century Rome. When the emperor decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives, he banned marriage. But Valentine continued to perform marriage ceremonies for young lovers in secret. When his actions were discovered, the emperor had him put to death. While in prison, it is said that Valentine fell in love with the daughter of his prison guard. Before his death, he wrote her a letter, which he signed "From your Valentine", an expression that is still in use today.
