胡蘿蔔

胡蘿蔔（拉丁學名：Daucus carota L. var. sativa Hoffm.），又稱紅蘿蔔或甘荀，是傘形科胡蘿蔔屬野胡蘿蔔的變種，一年生或二年生草本植物。 胡蘿蔔根粗壯，長圓錐形，呈橙紅色或黃色。莖直立，高可達90釐米，多分枝。葉片具長柄，羽狀複葉，裂片線形或披針形，先端尖銳；葉柄基部擴大，形成葉鞘。花通常白色，有時帶淡紅色；花柄不等長。果實圓錐形，稜上有白色刺手。4月開花。原產亞洲西部，阿富汗。根作蔬菜食用，並含多種維生素甲、乙、丙及胡蘿蔔素。 胡蘿蔔可以炸胡蘿蔔丸子、粉蒸胡蘿蔔絲、胡蘿蔔包子等。
