陸地，地理名詞，在通常意義上是指地球表面未被水淹沒的部分，由大陸、島嶼、半島和地峽幾部分組成。它的平均海拔高度為875米。人們在陸地上繁衍生息，用智慧和雙手創造人類文明，建設美好的家園。 地球表面未被海水淹沒的部分。包括大陸和島嶼。總面積1.489億平方公里，佔地球表面積的29.2%。面積廣大的陸地稱大陸，全球有亞歐大陸、非洲大陸、北美洲大陸、南美洲大陸、澳大利亞大陸和南極洲大陸等六塊，總面積為1.391億平方公里，約佔陸地總面積的93%；四周被海水包圍的小塊陸地稱島嶼，總面積為980萬平方公里，約佔陸地總面積的7%。陸地大部分分佈於北半球，島嶼多分佈於大陸的東岸。陸地表面起伏不平，有山脈、高原、平原、盆地等。
