本科，分為公辦本科和民辦本科。包括4種類型:公辦一本、公辦二本、民辦二本、民辦三本。大學或學院基本部分（區別於預科、專科），學生畢業後可獲“學士”學位。學制為二年制（專科起點兩年制本科），四年制（一般），五年制（醫學類、建築學）。在我國高考當中，本科生錄取分為本科一批(一本)、本科二批(二本)和本科三批(三本)。
