紫蘇（別名：桂荏、赤蘇，學名：Perilla frutescens(L.) Britt. ），唇形科紫蘇屬一年生草本植物。 其分佈於中國、不丹、印度、日本、朝鮮等地 。紫蘇莖高0.3-2米，綠色或紫色，鈍四稜形，具四槽，密被長柔毛。其可供藥用和香料用，入藥有發汗、鎮痛、解毒等作用，葉供食用，和肉類煮熟可增加後者的香味。
