詞義：1.行路；走路。2.出入的通道。亦稱通道，指聯絡房間、門廳和疏散人流的通道。從房間的聯絡考慮，走道的寬度應滿足人的通行和搬運傢俱的需要。其參考寬度如下：住宅，100一120釐米；教學樓，180(一側有教室)一240釐米（兩側有教室）；醫院，240—300釐米；劇場，≥300釐米。從防火和安全疏散角度考慮，走道不宜過長，從房間到樓梯間或外間的最大距離，學校、醫院一般為35米，其他民用建築為40米，託兒所、幼兒園為25米。走道通常不計算使用面。
