長髮，顧名思義就是人類的頭髮由短變長的過程，一般分為中長髮，長髮等。在生活中女性留長髮較多，但在清朝以前，漢族男士也是要續長髮的，在我們現代的生活中，有些男子也因為個人喜好留起了長髮。

長髮，長頭髮，與短髮相對； 《長髮》，《詩經·商頌》第四篇。全詩七章。是一首先秦時代的漢族詩歌。作者先秦無名氏。這是殷商后王祭祀成湯及其列祖，並以伊尹從祀的樂歌。其內容以歌頌成湯為主並追述先王功業。詩中塑造了商王朝創造者成湯的形象。全詩具有史詩的因素。詩的語言整齊勻稱，內容凝鍊集中，有較強的節律感，當是中國後世詩詞對仗的濫觴。《詩經》是漢族文學史上第一部詩歌總集。對後代詩歌發展有深遠的影響，成為中國古典文學現實主義傳統的源頭。
