閣下為對“您”的敬稱,與足下意思相近。古代常見於口語,近代至現代則多用於書籍信函中。目前人們在書信(尤其是公函、業務相關書信)中仍然使用閣下來稱呼彼此。但是由於“您”一字的代替,慢慢地“閣下”一詞多用於外交場合。香港的法院於1997年主權移交後對法官的稱呼由“法官大人”轉為“法官閣下”。
