The Arctic fox , also known as the white fox, polar fox, or snow fox, is a small fox native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and common throughout the Arctic tundra biome.It is well adapted to living in cold environments. It has a deep thick fur which is brown in summer and white in winter. Its body length ranges from 46 to 68 cm (18 to 27 in), with a generally rounded body shape to minimize the escape of body heat.

The Arctic fox preys on any small creatures such as: lemmings, voles, ringed seal pups, fish, waterfowl, and seabirds. It also eats carrion, berries, seaweed, insects, and other small invertebrates. Arctic foxes form monogamous pairs during the breeding season and they stay together to raise their young in complex underground dens. Occasionally, other family members may assist in raising their young.

金魚起源於中國，也稱“金鯽魚”，近似鯉魚（Cyprinus carpio）但它沒有口須，是由鯽魚進化而成的觀賞魚類。金魚的品種很多，顏色有紅、橙、紫、藍、墨、銀白、五花等，分為文種、草種、龍種、蛋種四大品系。在12世紀已開始金魚家化的遺傳研究，經過長時間培育，品種不斷優化，現在世界各國的金魚都是直接或間接由中國引種的。

據統計金魚品種大約有300多種，還在不斷出現新品種，基本分為五大類：

草種(grass goldfish)：體形和鯽魚類似，但顏色鮮豔，如：“紅鯽魚”。

文種(wen goldfishes)：體型俯視呈篆體的文字型，故名。基本和龍種相似，但眼球不突出，如：“珍珠（於1900年培育出現）”、“翻鰓（於1911年培育出現）”等品種。

龍種(groups.dragon-eye goldfishes)：是金魚的典型品種，眼大膨出，尾鰭有四葉（雙尾），如“龍睛（於1592年培育出現）”。

蛋種(oval goldfishes)：體型肥碩像蛋型，故名。主要特徵為沒有背鰭，眼球不突出，如：“虎頭”、“水泡眼（於1908年培育出現）”等。

其演化過程是：野生鯽魚首先演化成金鯽，經過草金魚和金鯽這兩個環節後，再發展成文種，然後演化出龍種和蛋種這兩個近親品種。

金魚的顏色，是由於真皮層中許多有色素皮膚細胞棗色素細胞所產生。

中國各地飼養者把頭形分為虎頭、獅頭、鵝頭、高頭、帽子和蛤蟆頭。在這些頭形中，有的是同一類型，在各地有著不同的名稱。

如北京飼養者稱為虎頭的，在南方稱為獅頭；在北京稱為帽子的，在南方稱為高頭或鵝頭。在這裡根據陳楨教授的命名，把頭形區分為平頭、鵝頭和獅頭3種類型。
